Three school friends walked more than 16 miles in a bid to raise hundreds of pounds for Children in Need.

Jordan Grosse, 15, Dion Dexter, 13, and Matt Prentice completed the walk from Stamford to their village of Woolsthorpe by Colsterworth in just over five hours and have so far raised more than £400 with more money pledged.

The three boys, who all attend Charles Read Academy in Corby Glen, set off on their walk on Saturday morning with about £500 already raised. Jordan’s mother Karen said they were all really pleased with the money they had raised.

Karen said: “They are all a little bit tired, but Jordan was not that tired as he was out with his friends afterwards. They enjoyed it and I think they might do it again.”

The boys walked from Stamford School through Ryhall, Holywell, Castle Bytham, South Witham and North Witham before arriving home.
