ONCE again, a Grantham railway bridge has been struck by a lorry driver blind to the bright yellow ‘low bridge’ signs adorning it.

Police are currently on the scene at the bridge in Barrowby Road, directing traffic around the Ellis Transport lorry which became jammed beneath it at about 10am this morning.

The lorry driver told the Journal Grantham’s road network is to blame for the blunder.

He said: “The whole of Grantham is chaos. Bridge strikes are an ongoing problem for Grantham. There was another elsewhere in the town this morning. That’s two in one morning. That says it all.”

The stricken driver is awaiting the arrival of a teleporter to clear the lorry.
