A supermarket in Grantham is set to undergo a transformation.
According to sources, planning permission will soon be sought to carry out extensive work to Lidl, in Watergate. This is rumoured to include a partial demolition and rebuild, and access into the car park from Watergate. However, the store’s headquarters has declined to go into detail at this stage. A spokeman for Lidl UK said: “Lidl are proposing plans to improve the customer experience and we will be in position to provide updates in the coming weeks.” A planning application was submitted to South Kesteven District Council in June last year to create a left turn into the car park from Watergate. It went on to be withdrawn in August.
