AC Williams auction raises £180,000 with all items sold
EVERY last item from AC Williams which was put up for auction on Thursday was sold - raising £180,000.
The entire assets of the two Renault dealerships were sold by industrial auctioneers CJM Asset Management, including mahinery, equipment and tools.
But the star lots were a 1972 Alpine Renault A110 and a 1994 Renault Megane rally car, together fetching £41,000.
Auctioneer Edward Denniss said: “There was an awful lot of interest in the auction. A good turn-out is usually two to three hundred, and we had just under 600 people register to bid.”
As reported in December, the dealerships in Harlaxton Road, Grantham, and Ermine Street, Ancaster, were closed when the firm went into administration. The coach hire element of the firm is expected to be saved.
