A FAMILY-run car dealership and coach hire business has gone into administration, leaving 30 jobs hanging in the balance.
A. C. Williams went into adminstration last week after the business hit cashflow problems.
It is hoped the coach hire side of the business, based in Ancaster, will be sold and 30 jobs saved.
Unfortunately, there is no hope for the car dealership division of A. C. Williams, which had sites in Harlaxton Road in Grantham, and Ancaster. Renault has taken back the franchises.
Peter Blair and Andrew Cordon, of corporate recovery firm Begbies Traynor, have been appointed administrators.
Mr Blair said: “We are attempting to sell the coach and bus division and intend completing the firm’s commitments into early 2012.
“The coach and business division currently employs around 30 staff and we are doing our best to save those jobs.”
A. C. Williams was founded in the 1950s and turned over £11 million. However, a reduction in new and used car sales and parts sales on the Renault side of the business heaped pressure on the firm and 23 employees were made redundant.
