Budding young chefs showed off their culinary skills as the Melton Mowbray Rotary Clubs recently held their annual Young Chef Competition for local secondary schools.
Twenty aspiring young cooks, under the eagle eyes of the judges, whisked, chopped and baked enthusiastically to produce a healthy two course meal.
The judges were joined this year by Martin Furlong, head chef at Stapleford Park Country House Hotel.
The winners, Emily Dawson (Long Field Academy) and Bryony Marshall (Belvoir High School), together with the runners-up will receive a couple of sessions of fine dining coaching at the hotel and a fine dining lunch as their reward.
Emily and Bryony will also compete in the Rotary Young Chef District Final in Leicester in early 2016.
