The iconic frontage of 12 and 13 Westgate is to become the entrance to offices for legal advice firm Lloyds Employment Law Consultancy.
The Grade II listed premises which was formerly H.H. Cox’s tailors and most recently lighting retailer The Lighthouse, is being renovated by Grantham Estates ready for the legal consultants to move in by the end of the year.
Planning permission for change of use from retail to financial and professional was granted by South Kesteven District Council on July 4.
Managing director of Grantham Estates David Hindmarch said: “It is a fantastic building and we thought let’s look at what it can be.”
While the building is currently undergoing renovations this is limited to inside, with its classic arched windows and clock remaining on the exterior.
Lloyds Employment Law Consultancy who are currently based on the High Street say they are looking forward to expanding into a larger office.
“We have over a thousand clients” said managing director John Seigel, “so we desperately need more space. These premises give us that and allow us to remain in the heart of Grantham where we have had our base for many years. We plan to be in well before Christmas.”
