The company opening a Kwik Save store in Harlaxton Road, Grantham, in April, says it will create six jobs.
Noble Retail Ltd, of St Neots, confirmed it was opening the store on the site of the former Huntingtower Arms pub in April.
An application to sell alcohol in the store has been made to South Kesteven District Council, but the next meeting of the licensing committee will not take place until April 4. The application is to sell alcohol between the hours of 6am and 11pm from the site which has been turned into retail units. A council spokesman said it was anticipated the store would not open until a licence to sell alcohol was granted.
Kwik Save went into administration in 2007, but made a comeback in 2012 and now operates a number of stores across the country. The chain previously ran a store in Castlegate in Grantham which was demolished in 2006.
According to Kwik Save its brand “returned to the high street in a back-to-basics convenience store format and has evolved to become an iconic convenience brand, delivering low prices and great value”.
