Discount supermarket company Kwik Save has put in an application for a licence to sell alcohol at the site of the former Huntingtower Arms pub.

The chain wants a licence to sell alcohol between the hours of 6am and 11pm from the site on Harlaxton Road which has been turned into retail units.

The new store will be operated under the Kwik Save franchise which is owned by Costcutter.

Kwik Save went into administration in 2007, but made a comeback in 2012 and now operates a number of stores across the country. The chain previously ran a store in Castlegate in Grantham.
