Grantham Canal Society is reminding people of an opportunity to climb aboard and explore the great outdoors.

It says now is the time to make a booking to hire its trip boat The Three Shires in time for the better weather just around the corner.

Groups of up to 10 people can be accommodated on the boat for trips down the canal lasting between one and four hours.

A canal society spokesman said: “It’s an inexpensive way to celebrate a birthday, watch the abundant wildlife or just sit back and relax.

“A skipper and crew are provided and The Thee Shires has a toilet and kitchen. Also, the trip boat is a great way to support the restoration of the canal which runds for 33 miles from Nottingham to Grantham.”

For details, contact Fiona Barton on 01949 850999, or visit the society’s website.
