There are less messy ways of raising money for charity, but where’s the fun in that, say Emma Rowles and Martha Mullery?

The colleagues at Boots in Grantham spent a total of five hours lounging in a soup of green mush on Thursday, in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

And generous shoppers and passers-by, for the bath was outside the High Street store, donated £350.

Assistant manager Emma, 23, said: “It was quite warm until the wind started blowing!

“It was very mushy but everyone was supportive.”

The bath was donated by Jackson Building Centres in Grantham, filled with 120 cans of mushy peas.
