Colsterworth timber firm takes over competitor

Colsterworth firm Associated Timber Services has bought the assets of competitor John Boddy Timber.

The acquisition sees Associated Timber Services become the largest home-grown hardwood timber merchant in the north of England. The company says it will save
jobs and strengthen the existing business by providing a one-stop-shop service from ‘tree to finished product’.

The company, based in Honey Pot Lane, bought its competitor after agreeing a £1.25 million funding package from Santander Corporate and Commercial.

The company was founded in 1987 by Managing Director and majority shareholder Andy Lodowski.

Mr Lodowski said: “We are very excited about this latest expansion.

“We now have three sites across the north of England which will help increase our market share.”
