An event at Grantham College tomorrow (Friday) will focus on apprenticeships and business partnerships, and will feature presentations by Grantham’s MP among others.

Engineering curriculum manager at Grantham College Colin Kistruck, Nigel Rivers from engineering firm Pentangle and Stuart Pigram from Go Grantham, the organisation putting together plans for a Business Improvement District (BID) for the town, have put together the event.

Entitled G.E.A.R’ing, it is for local engineering and automotive businesses to attend to look at working together, forming local bonds and looking at apprenticeships for local young people.

The event is being held in the college refectory tomorrow (Friday), 1pm for a 1.30pm start, with nibbles and drinks being served before the start.

Grantham MP Nick Boles MP will be giving a short presentation, as will Mr Kistruck and Mr Pigram, before businesses work in groups on a discussion topic.

Attendees so far include Airquick, Anglian Water, BGB, Cummins, Hoval, Moy Park, Paktronic, Pentangle and Belvoir Fruit Farms, as well as leader of South Kesteven District Council Bob Adams and SKDC chief executive Beverley Agass.

Any business wishing to be added to the guest list can contact Mr Kistruck at ckistruck@grantham.ac.uk
