Grantham-based law firm JMP Solicitors has recently appointed a specialist practitioner to head up its new family law department.
Neil Remnant will work from the firm’s base in the Autumn Park Business Centre, in Dysart Road.
He has vast experience in family law, having been in practice for 37 years. He has considerable knowledge of financial matters relating to matrimonial and family breakdown, having dealt with many such cases in the past; some with assets of over £5 million.
In addition, he acted for the petitioner in the first pension-sharing case to be approved by Inland Revenue following the change in the law.
Neil also has expertise in Children Act matters, particularly in private law children cases relating to residence, contact and leave to remove from the jurisdiction of the English courts, and general divorce work. He is also experienced in advising cohabiting couples following separation. Pre-nuptial agreements are a specialism of his.
Neil said: “I am very pleased and excited to be given the opportunity to set up a new family department in such a progressive and forward thinking firm as JMP. I am looking forward to providing a family law service that will be second to none.”
Other services offered by JMP include personal injury, medical negligence and employment law.
