A BARNSTONE-based firm has taught schoolchildren the importance of health and safety.
Eighty eight pupils of Langar Primary School paid a visit to Lafarge Cement’s plant in the Vale of Belvor, taking part in a range of activities to mark the plant’s ‘Health and Safety Month’ in June.
The youngsters were joined on the day by councillors and police officers.
During the course of the day there was a full site tour, photo quiz, harness demonstrations, road safety demonstrations, first aid demonstrations and the judging of safety slogans created by the schoolchildren.
Plant manager Chris Stephens said: “There is a real passion for health safety and the environment at Barnstone.
“The Barnstone team is very much looking forward to demonstrating our complete commitment in this area.”
