LINCOLNSHIRE County Council has announced that work on renovating Wide Westgate is running ahead of schedule.
The final stage of the work is set to begin ahead of schedule on Monday, July 23.
Senior Project Leader Les Outram said he was pleased that disruption for motorists has been kept to a minimum.
He said: “The first part of the renovation of Wide Westgate has gone well - a credit to our contractor, Ringway Infrastructure Services.
“We always aimed to allow vehicle access through the road closure as much as possible, and this has been one of the successes. Disruption really has been kept to a minimum for motorists.
“As we now move on to this final stage, there will be less parking available in Wide Westgate until the work is completed this September.”
The county council said that the road closure will be more evident for the final stage and parking spaces will be significantly reduced.
The work should be substantially complete in advance of the Gravity Fields festival that starts on 21 September.
