*Women of childbearing age with lower abdominal pain. *Men under 30 years of age with testicular pain. *Patients with blood in their urine.

*Women of childbearing age with lower abdominal pain.

*Men under 30 years of age with testicular pain.

*Patients with blood in their urine.*Patients with gastro-intestinal haemorrhages.

*All major trauma.

*All but minor head injuries.

*Truncal stabbings, gunshot wounds, and serious injuries.

*Scalds and burns covering more than 15 per cent of the body and all burns to the face, neck, eyes, ears or genitals.

*All obstetric or gynaecological patients except those expecting a normal delivery in the midwife managed unit.

So who can go to Grantham Hospital's A&E department?

*Patients requiring immediate airway, breathing or circulation resuscitation.

*Patients requiring immediate general surgical or urological opinion.

*Fractures and dislocations.

*Soft tissue injuries, sprains, strains, lacerations and haemotomata.

*Crush injuries not involving the pelvis.

*Hand injuries.

*Children's suspected fractures, if confined to one area.
