A CHARITY shop is making a desperate plea for donations after its weekly supply of hundreds of bags has dwindled down to just a handful.
The British Red Cross charity shop, in the Market Place, has seen its profits plummet since regeneration work began on its doorstep three weeks ago.
Shop manager Trish Templeman (pictured) said: “The knock-on effect on us has been tremendous. We can only exist on what comes through the door as donations.
“Even those donations that are not up to the required standard are usually sold to the rag man, so we’re losing money there, too.”
If you have items to donate, the British Red Cross shop would appreciate them.
