CHILDREN from 35 primary schools were invited to PGL for a fun-packed weekend thanks to the sports charity Inspire Plus.
The charity invited each school to pick two deserving children to send to the adventure activity centre where they enjoyed archery, climbing and much more.
Vincent Brittain of Inspire Plus said: “I was really pleased that so many schools got behind the weekend and sent their children.
“It proved to be a major success with children thoroughly enjoying themselves.
“Many made lots of new friends as a result.”
Inspire Plus was launched as a result of School Sports Partnerships losing their funding.
Vincent said: “We are the first partnership out of 450 to turn ourselves into a charity.
“We still serve the same local schools and have coached going into schools to teach kids.
Vincent has had a long-standing relationship with PGL at Caythorpe which allows children to spend time there. Not only do they have fun but they also learn about teamwork and leadership.
Vincent said: “We have had a fantastic relationship with PGL. The facilities they have there are so good for team building and trust exercises.
“This year we really kicked off the charity and wanted to do something for every school.
“All of the children have really appreciated being there - it’s been wonderful.
“One even said it was the happiest weekend of their life!”
