Exercise Georgiana got under way on Tuesday in Claypole to test the emergency services in a crisis situation.
Dozens of volunteers took on the roles of ‘survivors’ who were involved in a rail crash on the East Coast line. In a separate incident a tanker was said to have crashed into the local school and a class of pupils took on the roles of youngsters who had been evacuated and taken to the ‘survivor reception centre’ at the village hall.
Other groups taking part in the exercise were local radio enthusiasts Raynet and Lincolnshire 4x4 Response which provides vehicle support for the emergency services.
