STAFF who work for Danone Baby Nutrition in the East Midlands carried out a community day at Belton House to “give something back”.
The team of seven pulled on their boots and gardening gloves and got stuck into removing debris from the lake, to help maintain it for the thousands of annual visitors it receives.
They also set to work on clearing the area surrounding the lake of fallen pieces of wood and leaves as well as pruning trees.
Although the tasks were big, they were soon done and dusted due to the large amount of people volunteering their time and energy to lend a helping hand.
Regional business manager Kate Pashley said: “This project was made possible as Danone allows its employees to have two ‘community days’ a year to volunteer in the community and help to give something back.
“This particular day was arranged by Anna Ioannou from the East Midlands team. The head gardener seemed particularly grateful to have the extra help and was very pleased with the results of our efforts.”
