CAMPAIGNING group Bingham Community Concern has lodged an objection to a planning application submitted by Tesco to build a supermarket on the edge of Bingham.
The group, made up of residents, objected to Rushcliffe Borough Council which is considering the application.
ComCon believes the site’s proximity to a pedestrian railway crossing will be a danger to pedestrians.
A spokesman said: “We will be amazed if Network Rail supports a proposal for a superstore whose 10,000 potential customers’ shortest pedestrian access is across an unguarded main line railway crossing used by frequent high speed trains.”
Other issues include the impact of traffic congestion and the risk of losing markets and town centre shops.
