Join the Guildhall Arts Centre for its Alice in Wonderland themed Family Open Day, taking place next month on Saturday, July 2.
With a variety of free activities for all the family including face paints, croquet, Alice in Wonderland crafts, theatre tours and outdoor theatre performances, this is one event you don’t want to miss out on.
As part of the Alice in Wonderland themed Family Open Day, the theatre is showing the Alice in Wonderland film - a true Disney classic. On a golden afternoon, young Alice follows a White Rabbit, who disappears down a nearby rabbit hole. Quickly following him, she tumbles into the burrow - and enters the merry, topsy-turvy world of Wonderland. Memorable songs and whimsical escapades highlight Alice’s journey, which culminates in a madcap encounter with the Queen of Hearts - and her army of playing cards.
The film will start at 2pm on Saturday, July 2 and will last 75 minutes. Tickets are £1.
On Friday, July 8, and Saturday, July 9, Down to Earth Youth Drama are back performing at the Guildhall - Alice in Wonderland JR.
Join Alice’s madcap adventures in Wonderland as she chases the White Rabbit, races the Dodo Bird, gets tied up with the Tweedles, raps with a Caterpillar, and beats the Queen of Hearts at her own game.
All the family will recognise the Disney Classics such as ‘I’m Late’, ‘The Un-birthday Song’ and ‘Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah’.
Performances on July 8 and 9 take place at 7pm and tickets are priced at £6. To book tickets for either performance or for any of the previous events mentioned, please visit the Guildhall website at http://www.guildhallartscentre.com/ or telephone 01476 406158.
There are plenty more events and shows coming up at the Guildhall, including a performance by Kesteven and Grantham Girl’s School - who will be presenting ‘Annie’ from Thursday, next week (June 30) until Friday, July 1. Visit the website to find out more details.
