Shazia Mirza will be one of the acts performing at the Atrium comedy night tonight.

A HOST of fantastic comedians will be taking to the stage at the Atrium, Grantham, tomorrow night (Thursday) as part of the Magner’s Funhouse Comedy sessions.

Headlining is the laid back Michael Fabbri, who has a dark and honest approach to some of life’s more touchy subjects.

He shifts between harsh, controversial topics and light-hearted silliness resulting in a diverse and brilliantly funny act.

Supporting Michael is Shazia Mirza. She is an international award-winning comedian and columnist for the Guardian Weekend magazine, who has also guested on ‘Have I Got News For You?’.

From Birmingham she was previously a science teacher with one of her former pupils being the rapper Dizzee Rascal. Star of radio and TV she has appeared on ‘Last Comic Standing’, ‘Richard and Judy’ and more recently ‘The Wright Stuff’. Shazia’s distinctive act combines a deadpan delivery with observation on her world; her laconic one-liners represent something quite unique in modern comedy.

Also appearing will be Chris Norton Walker telling his hilarious anecdotes and Alan Armstrong.

Compere for the night is the lively and amiable Spiky Mike.

Tickets are £7 in advance. Doors open at 8pm for an 8.30pm start.
