Obit - Vallance

Mr David Clement Vallance, of Wroxall Drive, Grantham, has died in Grantham Hospital. He was 67.

He was born in Croydon, London, in November 1945, the son of Bernard and Irene Vallance, and he had a brother, John.

Mr Vallance was educated in Croydon, and the family moved to Grantham in the early 1960s.

He was married to Moira, who has predeceased him. He leaves his brother, John. Mr Vallance had various jobs in engineering until becoming a lens grinder at Combined Opticals. Upon moving to Grantham, he became a railwayman with British Rail. In his earlier years he enjoyed holidays to Stonehaven with his wife. He liked listening to Tamla Motown records and watching television.

Robert Holland conducted the funeral service at Grantham Crematorium Chapel. He was later buried in a plot beside his wife, Moira.

Family mourners included: John Vallance, Dea Vallance, Justin and Colin Vallance, Karen Vallance, Brian and Christine Edinboro.

Other mourners included: Mr and Mrs Goodband, Andy and Linda Goswell, Ray Clarke, Amy Parish, Maureen Griffiths, Mr and Mrs Banfield, Victor Hughes, and Elita Cozens.

Funeral arrangements were by Robert Holland, St Catherine’s Road, Grantham. Donations were received for Grantham Gateway Club for the learning disabled.
