A COUPLE want to warn other parents after receiving death threats directed at their baby on Facebook.

Danielle Fenton, 22, noticed the abusive messages on her page on the social networking site when she was checking for messages from friends.

She said: “Some of the messages were directed towards me, but the majority of them were to the baby.

“I felt physically sick when I first saw them, I wanted to cry. They were sent when he was just seven-weeks-old.”

The six messages, which are too distressing to print, make death threats towards her baby son Bailey, and a tirade abuse at Danielle.

Upset, she rang her fiancé Christopher Handley, 26, and told him about the messages.

He said: “It made me feel quite sick, I was angry but was trying to keep calm.

“When it’s directed towards your son and your partner you’re not going to be happy about it.”

The couple, who were worried for the safety of Danielle and their baby, then called the police.

Danielle said: “At the time I didn’t know if it was someone we knew or just a random attack. I don’t know why we were targeted.”

A few days later the couple discovered that other parents were being sent abuse from the same account and it was not anybody they knew. But despite this, new mum Danielle is still on edge.

She said: “I don’t like going out on my own or being home on my own since reading the messages. I’m looking over my shoulder all of the time. I now know it’s web trolls saying my son is going to be dead before his first birthday, but what kind of person does that?”

The account that sent the messages has now been deactivated but Danielle and Christopher wanted to tell other parents about the web trolls.

Danielle said: “I want to warn other parents who might be going through it that it’s just a random attack. It’s not very nice for people to experience.”
