A DELIVERY driver who reversed into a pedestrian on the pavement admitted driving without due care and attention.

Erol Kus, of Hudson Way, Grantham, knocked the woman over while she walked home from work through the Market Place at 5.45pm on December 30 last year.

Kus, 45, who was defending himself, said: “It was a mistake, I’m sorry about that.”

District judge Richard Blake fined Kus £150 and made him pay costs of £43 and £15 victim surcharge. He put seven points on his driving licence.

He said: “This borders on dangerous driving. You could have killed that woman, it could’ve been a mother and child. You have to drive a bit more carefully.”
