Drivers caught over speed limits

A NUMBER of people were at Grantham Magistrates’ Court on Friday accused of speeding.

DAX Eden, of Broomhills, Welwyn Garden City, admitted driving at 81mph on the A1 at Barrowby Thorns on September 6 last year. He was fined £100, plus £43 costs and £15 victim surcharge and his licence was endorsed with three points.

He sent a letter apologising for the ‘unintentional’ event. He was fined £40, made to pay £43 costs and £15 victim surcharge. Three points were put on his licence.

DAVID Flounders, 27, of Hurn Walk, Thornaby, Stockton on Tees, admitted driving at 53mph on Sankt Augustin Way, Grantham, on January 26.

Flounders, who was recorded speeding at 7.41pm, was fined £285 and made to pay £43 costs and £15 victim surcharge. He was given six penalty points.

MARK Horsfield, 40, of Church Lane, Tydd St Mary, Wisbech, was caught speeding on the A52 between Cold Harbour and the A15. His speed was recorded at 68mph on November 26. Horsfield was fined £265 with £43 costs and £15 victim surcharge. He was given four penalty points.

DENISE Marques Neves, 52, of Ollerton Road, Tuxford, was recorded on a handheld camera driving at 90mph on the A1 near Long Bennington.

Marques Neves admitted speeding on October 29. She was fined £175 plus £43 costs and £15 victim surcharge and given three points on her licence.
