A jury in a drugs conspiracy trial has been shown video footage of a Grantham man carrying what appears to be a “white package”.

Lincoln Crown Court has been told a gang headed up by Jonathan Ferry was involved with other organised crime groups from Nottinghamshire and Manchester in the supply of illicit drugs into Grantham.

It is alleged Adam Higgs was the “most senior lieutenant” while Stuart Frazier and Paul Hull played leading roles.

The jury were shown video footage of Ferry’s white Range Rover parked outside an address in Princess Drive, Grantham, on July 17 last year.

Matthew Lowe, prosecuting, said a bare chested man approached the vehicle and then Frazier, wearing a pink shirt, got out of his BMW and got in to the front passenger seat of the Range Rover.

Mr Lowe told the jury when the Range Rover returned a few minutes later, Frazier exited the car and “appeared to be holding a white package in his left hand”.

It is alleged Frazier was again seen carrying a white package when he parked his BMW outside the same address the next day.

Mr Lowe said video footage this time showed Frazier getting out of the driver’s door, opening a rear door to put on a coat and then walking away with what appeared to be a white package in his left hand.

Five men are on trial accused of involvement in the supply of drugs. James Straw, 50, of Petersmith Drive, New Ollerton, Newark; Stuart Frazier, 54, of Princess Drive, Grantham; Jamie Darby, 39, of Princess Drive, Grantham; Anthony Morton, 27, of Tamar Court, Grantham; and Adam Gill, 29, of South Parade, Grantham; all deny charges of conspiracy to supply drugs between 1 January and 23 October, 2014.

Martin Cooper, 30, formerly of Grantham, and Francesca Moynihan, 22, of Hawthorn Drive, Salford, each initially denied the same charge but changed their pleas to guilty shortly after the start of the trial.

The jury has been told that seven other men have admitted charges of conspiracy to supply drugs between the same dates. They are Jonathan Paul Ferry, 46, of Larch Close, Grantham; Paul Hull, 47, of Grantley Street, Grantham; Adam Higgs, 24, of Shaw Road, Grantham; Ashley Toulson, 27, of Edward Street, Grantham; Tyrone Sly, 45, of Bye Path Road, Retford; Ryan Anderson, 30, of Walmer Street, Gorton, Manchester; and Luke Smith, 30, of Goulden Street, Salford.

The trial continues.
