Members of a gardening club which works hard to keep an area of Grantham looking attractive are furious after 30 plants were stolen.

The marigold plants were taken from the garden of Thames Road Community Centre, on the Earlesfield estate, overnight on Wednesday.

Anne Clark, a member of the club, called the culprit a “thieving toe rag” and went on to say: “As always, we have, and are, working hard to enhance the area in which we live. We entered into SKDC’s garden competition again, and this happens...”

Anne is urging the thief to return the plants to the garden, which has won awards in the district council’s gardens competition for several consecutive years.
