A woman was stopped in her car by police after smoking cannabis with friends.
Charlotte Louise Searle, 31, of Manse Avenue, Lincoln, admitted driving while over the legal limit for a controlled drug in her blood.
Prosecuting, Jim Clare said police stopped Searle in Brook Street, Grantham, on December 8, because she had a defective headlight. They smelled cannabis in the car and she admitted smoking it before leaving a friend’s house.
Rob Arthur, defending, said Searle had a 12-year-old son with severe behavioural problems who attended school in Grantham. He said she had mental health problems and on the day of her arrest had gone to her mother’s house but had forgotten her medication. She later smoked the cannabis at a friend’s house.
Mr Arthur added: “She regrets smoking the cannabis. She had a lot of pressure on her at the time.”
He said Searle would be banned from driving and this would mean difficulties in getting her son to school.
Magistrates disqualified Searle from driving for 12 months. She was also fined £120 and ordered to pay costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £20.
