A driver was stopped in Spittlegate Level and found to be over the drink-drive limit.

Arturs Svarcburgs of Grantley Street in Grantham admitted drink-driving after being stopped on May 25.

He was found to have 47 mgs of alcohol in 100 mls of breath. The legal limit is 35 mg.

Bill Fraser, defending, said: “Mr Svarcburgs has no convictions in this country or in Latvia.

“He has a Latvian driving licence which is in Latvia.”

Svarcburgs, 22, was disqualified from driving for 12 months and fined £250. He must also pay £85 in costs and a £25 surcharge.
