Magistrates heard how a 29-year-old believes being caught with MKat by police has actually ‘done him the world of good’ as it has led to him giving up drugs and finding work.
Matthew Bellamy, of Signal Road, Grantham, pleaded guilty to being in possession of the class B drug, on June 8.
He was caught with a small bag containing 0.83g of the drug, valued at around £20, when police raided a Peugeot 106 in which Bellamy was the front seat passenger.
Rob Arthur, defending, said his client had a history of drug use, but had ended a relationship that had exacerbated this, as well as securing employment.
Bellamy must pay a £165 fine, £85 in costs, and a £20 victim surcharge.
