Two women ignored police advice to leave an area of Grantham when they returned drunk and causing a disturbance.

Michelle Marie Treanor, 42, of no fixed abode, and Cheryl Walker, 42, of Shaw Road, Grantham, both admitted failing to comply with a police notice to leave Welham Street, Grantham, on September 20 and not return within 48 hours.

Jim Clare, prosecuting, said police were called to Riverside in Welham Street and issued both women with notices to leave. Both women were described as drunk and causing a disturbance or disorder. Mr Clare told magistrates that the notice was to last for 48 hours but a few hours later one of the constables was dispatched to Welham Street where two drunk women were reported to be causing a disturbance.

Walker refused to say anything in court, but Treanor said she wanted “just to apologise”.

Both women were fined £100 and each ordered to pay costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £15.
