A husband is living in a hotel after admitting he assaulted his wife following an argument.
Christopher Alan Roberts, 48, of North Parade, Grantham, admitted assault by beating on February 27.
Prosecuting, Daniel Pietryka said police were called to the house at 9.30pm.
Roberts and his wife had been drinking in a pub and had come home where they drank more and then had the argument.
Mr Pietryka said Roberts pushed his wife and she fell hitting her cheek on some furniture, which caused a cut.
Roberts, who was not represented, told the court that he and his wife had been together 20 years.
They had argued about money and he had pushed his wife but had not meant for her to fall over.
He said: “I am sorry I lost my temper.
“I pushed her and she fell. She had a small cut to her cheek.”
Roberts said he had been staying at the Avenue Hotel in Grantham as part of his bail conditions.
Magistrates adjourned the case until April 23 for a probation report.
They granted Roberts bail on condition he lived at the Avenue Hotel and did not contact his wife.
