Red mist was to blame after a man climbed on top of a vehicle, causing damage to the bodywork.

Gavin Morson of West Street, Folkingham, got into an argument with his partner and her friend shortly before committing the crime.

Daniel Pietryka, prosecuting, described Morson “walking on top of the vehicle, causing the bonnet and the roof area to become dented”.

Rory Macmillan, defending, said Morson had intended to turn the other cheek and leave following the argument but instead “took out his frustration by walking over the top of the victim’s car”.

Mr Macmillan added: “He accepts that’s exactly what he did. He regrets his actions but they were born out of frustration in the moment.”

Morson admitted causing criminal damage and magistrates sentenced him after being told he had promised to fix the damage he had caused and had apologised to the victim.

Morson, 33, was sentenced to a 12-month conditional discharge and must pay £15 costs.
