After the non-attendance of 36-year-old woman scheduled to appear at Grantham magistrates to answer four charges of shoplifting, a warrant was issued for her arrest.

Stacey Macdonald from Burrows Close, Grantham was due to face charges of taking ink cartridges and a jumper worth £241 from Tescos in Bourne, linen valued at £27 from JYSK in Grantham, and £24 worth of meat and other items valued at £50 from the Co-op on Princess Drive.

While Macdonald had pleaded guilty to the latter three thefts, these had been adjourned to be heard alongside the Tesco incident on May 2.

On her failure to attend, prosecutor Jim Clare said: “We are not here for her convenience” and the magistrates issued a warrant for her arrest not backed for bail.
