A DRIVER was taken to hospital after hitting a telegraph pole when he was more than twice over the drink drive limit.
Vladimirs Ivanovs, 44, of Church Lane, Great Humby, admitted being over the limit when police arrived at the accident in Oasby on November 29. Police said he was dazed and confused and sparks were coming from the cables, which were across a hedge. Judith Armstrong, defending, said: “Noone has learnt a more telling lesson than Mr Ivanovs, who consequently had to be treated in hospital. This was a one off and he deeply regrets his actions.”
Ivanovs was fined £150 with £85 costs and £15 victim surcharge. He was banned from driving for 20 months.
