Man injured in train assault

A MAN suffered head injuries when he was assaulted on a train travelling through Grantham Railway Station today (Monday).

The altercation, which was reported at 2.38pm, took place on the 2pm train from London King’s Cross to Aberdeen.

The train was stopped at Grantham.

A spokesman for British Transport Police said: “Officers are launching a full investigation into the circumstances.”

The injuries to the 37-year-old are not thought to be life threatening.

A 33-year-old man from Glasgow has been arrested.
