Man is injured in a raid on a Bingham pub carried out by gang brandishing a weapon

A GANG of men, one brandishing an iron bar, raided a pub in Bingham and left one victim with a deep facial injury.

With faces covered, three men burst through the back door of The Wheatsheaf, in Long Acre, at about 1am on Monday morning.

The four adults in the pub were forced to hand over their cash, handbags and mobile phones.

A 34-year-old man suffered a facial injury which was later stitched up at the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham.

A spokesman for Nottinghamshire Police said: “Police believe a fourth man was involved, but he did not enter the pub.

“Detectives investigating the matter believe the offenders arrived and departed in a vehicle, but at this stage there is no available description of the vehicle.”

A member of the public found one of the stolen mobile phones in Tithby Road on Monday morning and a handbag was also found in Nottingham Road.
