A MAN will serve 28 days in prison for failing to pay his court fines.
Tacettin Bilir, of Harrow Street, Grantham, who has eight fines outstanding totalling £637.60 was warned earlier in the year that he would face jail if he did not pay.
Bill Fraser, defending, said that Bilir, 40, would pay £50 on Monday and £10 per fortnight after that.
But district judge John Stobart said: “You have shown that you are absolutely unwilling to pay anything.
“I’m not going to take any assurance which is exactly the same as you made earlier in the year. The 28 days that were suspended will now be served. You were warned.”
Bilir’s fines were lodged.
