THREATS to her unborn child, daughter and family have left a victim terrified and constantly looking over her shoulder, a court heard.
Harrowing voicemails were left on the victim’s mobile phone by her former lover and father of her unborn baby, Stuart Dandridge, of College Street, Grantham. The 40-year-old admitted two charges of sending menacing messages to both his ex-girlfriend and sister, both from Worksop.
Grantham magistrates heard how the couple met online and went on to meet up and form a relationship last autumn.
After a break-up and reconciliation, the victim discovered she was pregnant, only for the couple to later separate again.
In December, the victim had a bad fall and was admitted to hopsital suffering from back injuries, and also fearing she was losing the baby. During her spell in hospital, her sister kept Dandridge informed of her recovery.
The court heard how one night, after drinking heavily, Dandridge left threatening voicemail messages on the sisters’ phones, with one saying “God help you, I’m coming for you and your kids”.
Stuart Wild, defending, said: “He is genuinely remorseful. The calls were made over a period of one evening when he was in drink.”
Magistrates ordered a full pre-sentence report be compiled and adjourned the case until February 9.
Dandridge was granted bail on the conditions he does not contact the two victims, nor visits their homes.
