A FATHER-of-one lost his job after giving his brother-in-law a lift to work when he was disqualified from driving.

Garry Hedworth, of Victoria Street, Grantham, was stopped by police on February 1 just days after he was disqualified for totting-up offences. He admitted the charge and having no insurance.

Hedworth was in Swingbridge Road, Grantham, when police stopped him.

Rory Macmillan, defending, said his actions have put a strain on his relationship and finances and he has lost his job.

Hedworth was given a 12-month community order with 200 hours’ of unpaid work and six penalty points. He paid £85 costs.
