A BANNED driver was spotted behind the wheel while talking on his mobile phone.
Police pulled over Gregory Boyfield, 23, after officers driving alongside him on the A1 at Foston saw he was on his mobile phone.
However, after he was stopped, police discovered he was also banned from driving.
Bill Fraser, defending, told the court this was a ‘very unusual set of circumstances’.
Mr Fraser said Boyfield had been banned for six months in January but believed his appeal had been successful after receiving a clean licence in the post from the DVLA.
Boyfield admitted driving whilst disqualified and driving while using a phone.
He was fined £110 and given six penalty points on his licence.
