SUSPECTED deer poachers were arrested in the early hours of Monday morning on land south of Grantham.
Lincolnshire Police officers stopped a grey Mitsubishi Shogun which was driving on private land and “lamping” - using powerful lamps to identify and hunt nocturnal animals.
Four men were reported for poaching offences following the incident at 1am on Monday morning. The men were suspected of poaching on land off Glen Road in Castle Bytham.
The Mitsubishi Shogun was seized under section eight of The Hunting Act.
The four men were all from the Teeside area with three coming from Middlesbrough and one from Hartlepool. All were reported for deer poaching under section 1B of the Night Poaching Act.
They will be summonsed at a later date.
