POLICE are trying to trace the man in this photograph to eliminate him from their enquiries into an attempted distraction burglary.

It is believed he was in the area of Bridge End Road, Grantham, on April 13 around the time of an attempted distraction burglary of a 95-year-old woman.

DC Karen Delderfield said: “I wish to trace this man as he may be able to assist with my enquiries. I may be able to eliminate him from them altogether.

“I would appeal for him to get into touch with me directly to let me know what he was doing in the area at the time and also if he saw anything.”

During the incident a man knocked on the elderly woman’s door and said he was from the Waterboard. He said that he needed to go into her house to turn her supply off.

She challenged him and asked for ID. He said he had left it in his car and needed to fetch it. He left and did not return.
