A POLICEMAN spoke in favour of a defendant being allowed bail after he helped the authorities with further offences.
Adrian Johnson of Beck Gardens, Grantham, admitted receiving stolen goods and stealing cash. He also asked for 18 other offences to be taken into account.
Prosecutor Jim Clare argued against bail. He said: “There doesn’t seem to be anything that’s going to curtail his offending.”
However, Giles Tyas, defending, argued for Johnson being bailed and was supported by DC Justice of Lincolnshire Police who told the court: “In custody yesterday he was extremely helpful with regard to further offences. We were looking to bail him with stringent conditions but it was the custody sergeant who decided to keep him here until this morning.”
Johnson, 25, was bailed and will return for sentencing on July 1.
