A rare motorbike, of which there are thought to be only seven in the country, has been stolen from an address in Grantham.
The Honda XL200 was stolen from the garage of Alan Fox on Harrowby Road over the night of Wednesday and Thursday.
Mr Fox discovered the motorcycle missing at 11am on Thursday morning. He had been working in the garage until 8.30pm the previous night.
Mr Fox, 69, has had the 2003 off-road trail bike for three years. He said: “The last time I checked there were only seven in the country.”
Mr Fox has been riding bikes since he was 16 years old.
His son, James, told the Journal: “It is not a valuable bike but he loved it and is unlikely to find another one let alone afford one. He is 70 next year and used the bike to keep himself active in his retirement mostly using it to visit me, my wife and his two young grandchildren. I will put up a small reward for the bike’s safe return. I really hope your readers can help reunite him with his bike.”
If you have information about the missing motorcycle call the police on 101, Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or contact the Journal.
