Outbuildings in the Bottesford area are being targeted by criminals.
The area’s Neighbourhood Watch group is warning families to lock doors and windows to better protect their property.
The warning coincides with advice issued by Leicestershire Police on avoiding becoming a victim of crime during summer holidays, when burglaries tend to increase. The advice includes making your home look occupied, asking a neighbour to open/close curtains, securing your garden, fitting security lights or a visible alarm, using timers to make lights come on and cancelling milk and newspaper deliveries. It is also unwise to advertise holidays on social networking sites.
