Trio accused of pub affray

FOOTAGE of punching, kicking and stamping was shown to a full courtroom on Wednesday in a case in which three men were accused of affray.

Magistrates were shown CCTV footage of a brawl in the Priory pub, in Dysart Road, Grantham, which involved a number of men.

The fracas took place on the afternoon of May 1.

Stephen Clarke, of The Avenue, Grantham, entered no plea, while brothers Sean Page, 21, and Nicholas Page, 20, both of Tamar Court, Grantham, pleaded guilty.

Following representations by both prosecutor Daniel Paulson and defence solicitor Rob Arthur, magistrates declined jurisdiction on the grounds that their sentencing powers are insufficient. They ordered that the trio’s cases be heard at Lincoln Crown Court.

Clarke, 31, will reappear at the magistrates’ court on October 12 for committal to crown court. He was granted unconditional bail. The Page brothers were also granted unconditional bail.
